Welcome to “Books to Kindle”

Connie Delaney, Kindle Designs
Do you have a finished book that you would like published to the Kindle format?
Do you need some final tweeks to an .epub or .mobi document before publishing?
Are you simply wondering how to get started in publishing your book to Kindle?
We can help.
Kindle Publishing Is Different
Publishing a book to Kindle is significantly different from traditional book publishing for obvious reasons. A book is a physical thing that, once printed and bound, does not change shape again. A book published in Kindle, Nook or eBook format, however, lives in a constant state of change.
Books are edited and published with desktop publishing software that gives the editors a chance to format and see the final copy exactly as it will be printed. Book editing software is designed to operate within this static publishing environment.
Writing your book in Microsoft Word is a good example of publishing software. Word is great for books. Converting a book from Word to Kindle can drive you nuts!
The Kindle Publishing Format
Kindle books can be read on a number of devices from the Kindle itself, to iTouch screens, smart phones or in readers for the home computer. Even on a single device it does not stay static! Font size and backgrounds can be changed to suit the taste of the reader. The same holds true for the Nook reader or any electronic book reader.
This is why Kindle and Nook publishing uses HTML codebase for editing and publishing. HTML is a rendering language that was designed to operate in the fluid environment of the computer screen. It is the language that the visual part of web pages are written in. Kindle book editing, to get it right, requires a certain level of HTML skills.
That’s where we come in.
Publishing to Kindle, Nook and eReaders
We can take your book from the static state of desktop publishing software, and convert it to the fluid styles needed for screen reading and are happy to help at any stage of development:
For the document to be published only on Kindle and Nook:
- We can take your document, give it a final editing, and convert to all necessary online formats for you to sell: Kindle, Nook and eBooks.
For the previous published Book to be added to the Kindle store:
- All the better is your document has passed final proofreading. We can easily convert it to Kindle format for online publishing
For the document already converted to .epub or .mobi and it’s giving you fits:
- You’ve done a lot of the conversion but something about the formatting has you bamboozled and confused. We can do a final run-through to fix those pictures, table of contents, links and other HTML elements which cause difficulty.
Contact us today and see how we can help!
Sincerely,
Connie Delaney
